When a bag is filled, typically all the product is put in the bag is at the bottom of the bottom of the bag creating a “pear’ shaped bag. Or while a bag is being conveyed from the bag fillers to the palletizer, the bags become distorted.
A bag flattener is designed to re-distribute the product evenly throughout the bag creating a more uniform, flat bag. Also while filling a bag, air is introduced into the product creating a fluffy, fluid filled bag. A bag flattener will help de-areate the bag creating a firmer, filled bag.
Some products need a soft “squeezing” to redistribute the product in the bag. Other products need a former “squeeze” to redistribute the product. Other products don’t respond to a “squeeze”.
Conveying Industries bag flatteners are designed to be completely adjustable to provide the appropriate “squeeze” for the product. This style utilizes a bottom conveying surface and an upper compression conveyor boom to provide the necessary pressure on the bags.
For those products that can’t be “squeezed”, we manufacture a specialty bag flattener that utilizes either vibration or a square roller conveying. This is a single conveying surface only and provides the necessary vibration to redistribute the product in a bag.
