Some palletized products require either weather production or load containment to help prevent packages from falling off the palletized load.
This can be accomplished by the use of stretch wrappers or stretch hooders.
There are 2 types of stretch wrappers. One is a turntable style od the other is an overhead style.
The turntable style is the most common and used to wrap shorted loads that can be rotated.
The overhead style is typically used with tall loads that cannot be rotated without bags falling off the load.
Some products require weather protection. This can be accomplished with a Conveying Industries automatic hooder (or bag placer). This hooder will place a loose plastic bag over the palletized load and then stretch wrapped. This allows the bag to be removed to take off bags from the load and replaced back over the load.
A stretch hooder is typically used where the products need to be contained to the pallets but does not require the re-use of the wrapping to keep the load weather tight. The stretch hooder will stretch out a preformed bag, bring it down over the load and then retract fingers and allow the bag to snap into place, creating a tight load for containment and temporary weather tightness.
